- We offer a choice of data plan validity periods, 30 or 91 days, with inclusive Standard data that is delivered at defined download and upload speeds.
- When your data plan’s Standard data is exhausted, usage reverts to bonus data that is unlimited in volume. Bonus data is provided at reduced download and upload speeds, that depend on the chosen data plan
- Standard data, on daily data plans, is refreshed daily at midnight, so our customers are never left without a good quality connection to the internet. For 30-day data plans, Standard data is refreshed when the 30-day data allocation is exhausted (provided this occurs before the end of data plan’s validity period)
- Afrimax’s data services are delivered via a customer premises equipment (CPE) set, comprising an outdoor antenna and an indoor wireless access point (WAP) and equipped with an Afrimax SIM card. Customers may also use an Afrimax SIM card with a compatible smartphone or MiFi device

- You can upgrade your chosen plan at any time. Simply contact your Afrimax Account Manager, by telephone or email, and request a Plan Upgrade
- Afrimax will calculate any credit available from your existing Plan, apply this to your new Plan and invite you to pay the difference; This may result in a change to your renewal date

- Your Afrimax CPE set includes everything you need to connect to the internet including your Afrimax CPE, wifi access point (WAP), power supply and cables.
- For users that require a roof installation, roof mounts and/or masts will also be supplied.
- Afrimax CPE is only approved for use at the Service Address you provided when you signed up at www.afrimax.net.
- If you need to change your Service Address, you can check to see if service is available at your new preferred location. If it is, you may update your Service Address and use your Afrimax CPE at the new location.
- Yes. Afrimax’s Unlimited Data Plans are truly, wholly and un-reservedly Unlimited, with respect to the volume of data available, for their entire validity period
- Each plan has a pre-defined daily volume delivered at a pre-defined Standard speed. This Standard speed is reduced once the pre-defined daily volume is reached
- When the daily (or 30-day) Standard data is exhausted, you are given unlimited Bonus data with reduced download and upload speeds according to your chosen data plan to enable you to stay connected
- Note that Afrimax also offers Fixed Data Plans that do not offer unlimited data, so please choose carefully
- We have a 7-day return policy on new device activations. All original equipment must be returned in un-damaged condition
- The data plan itself is not refundable unless our data plan service could not be delivered to your location.
- Yes, for situations in which a fixed wireless connection is required. Afrimax’s data service is provided via a customer premises equipment (CPE) set. Afrimax’s CPE set comprises an outdoor antenna and an indoor wireless access point (WAP). See pricing details for access to Afrimax CPE here
- Alternatively, customers may also choose to access Afrimax’s data service via a compatible smartphone or MiFi device. A list of compatible smartphones is available here.
Afrimax SIM cards are provided free of charge on initial account activation;
Replacements of lost or damaged SIM Cards are 1,000 (one thousand) Malawi Kwacha.
You can Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) subject to it being:
- Equipped with 2300MHz TD-LTE technology;
- Able to operate on LTE Band 40; and
- SIM-free or SIM unlocked.

- Afrimax CPE is able to receive internet connectivity within designated areas. These designated areas are referred to as cells.
- Your Afrimax CPE is assigned to operate in all Afrimax cells across its coverage area. However, if you move your Afrimax CPE outside of Afrimax’s coverage area it will not be able to receive internet connectivity. This is constrained by physics and not arbitrary geofencing.
- Yes, there are Afrimax CPE customers that live in apartment buildings, town houses and other multi-family buildings that have successfully installed Afrimax CPE (e.g. side of building, balcony, roof, etc.).
- Prior to ordering Afrimax CPE, we recommend coordinating with your landlord and neighbours to find a suitable outdoor installation location that has a clear line of sight to an Afrimax cell-tower, to maintain connection between our network and your Afrimax CPE.
